Self-advocates, family members, caregivers, educators, lawmakers, direct support staff and others are invited to attend the conference to learn more about resources, trends, and future plans for the I/DD community. 

The Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) is pleased to sponsor up to 20 self-advocates to attend the 2023 Alabama disAbility Conference on September 18-20, 2023 in Montgomery, AL. The information and knowledge gained will be beneficial to continue advocacy efforts and learn more about waivers and servcies available.

Awarded scholarships will only cover the cost of conference registration ($225.00). Travel to and from the conference along with hotel expenses are not covered by this scholarship. You will be notified by email if you are awarded the scholarship.

Funds are limited and applications will be processed until funds are depleted. Applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE: EARLY BIRD AND REGULAR RATE (AFTER AUGUST 1ST):

  • Full Conference - Early Bird Rate $275.00 + $20.29 processing fee, includes all days and all events, including Monday evening reception and lunch on Tuesday and WednesdayAvailable from 3/15/23 to 6/30/23. Regular rate is $350.00 beginning 7/1/23. Full conference registration also includes tote bag.

  • Full Conference Self-Advocate or Family Member of Self-Advocate $225.00 + 16.94 processing fee, includes all days and all events, and conference bag

  • Tuesday Awards Luncheon Only- $50.00 + $5.20 processing fee, covers cost of meal and admittance 

  • Wednesday Closing Luncheon Only-$50 +$5.20 processing fee, covers cost of meal and admittance..

  • Paper registration (payment by check or with purchase order): see instructions at Event Brite registration site. Checks will be made out to The Arc of Walker County. Use Registration Form above.

HOTEL: Embassy Suites by Hilton. Your stay at the Embassy includes made to order breakfast and evening snack. Lodging is not included in the conference ticket prices or tier levels. Use code ADC to get conference rates.

 

ACCESSIBILITY:  Accessible rooms are limited at the Embassy Suites.  Additional accessible rooms are available near our main venue at Hyatt Place, Marriott Courtyard, Days Inn by Wyndham Galleria, Hampton Inn & Suites, and the Hyatt Regency..
 

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Cancellations must be made on or before August 5, 2023 and are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Refunds will be made after the Conference. A substitute participant may be designated in place of a paid registrant who cannot attend. Request for cancellations, change in participant information or refunds should be made by sending an email to conference@thearcofal.org. In the subject line indicate "REFUND."
