Monday- Family Day
The ADC’s 1st FAMILY DAY
We are excited to welcome families supporting children ages 12 & up to our Alabama Disability Conference. All you need to know about how to prepare for the teen years and adulthood combined with exciting networking opportunities! Join us for “TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD 101” & spend a day getting all the info you’ll need about:
TRANSITION SERVICES: Recognizing the value of strong IEP goals related to transition services (like pre employment, post secondary education, job skills training and job supports) written into an IEP & when to start these services. Connect with ADRS, & other supported employment services throughout our state.
POST SECONDARY EDUCATION & TRAINING: Meet & Greet with the AUBURN EAGLES program staff and volunteers to learn more about what college could look like for your child. Examine opportunities throughout both our state and National THINK College organizations & Discover services provided & how to apply for each program.
FUTURE PLANNING: Learn how to set goals and implement supports to obtain positive outcomes. Discuss protective orders, supportive decision making & team building, & financial planning tools.
It’s your child’s future…let’s help them “SOAR”!
